WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WASHINGTON COUNTY'S TRIAD/S.A.L.T. COUNCIL

The TRIAD is responsible for the formation of the S.A.L.T. Council. S.A.L.T. stands for Seniors And Law Enforcement Together. The TRIAD is composed of the American Association of Retired Persons, National Sheriff's Association, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Hagerstown Police Department, and the Maryland State Police.

To become more closely attuned to the needs and law-enforcement related problems of the communities of older persons, the S.A.L.T. Council acts as an advocacy/advisory group to provide a forum for the exchange of information between seniors and law enforcement. The S.A.L.T. Council serves the needs and concerns of the community to ascertain existing resources, and to plan and develop appropriate programs to improve the quality of life for the community's senior citizens.

The S.A.L.T. Council meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Anyone who would like more information or to participate in the TRIAD or S.A.L.T. Council, please contact our Community Relations Unit at 240-313-2194 or 240-313-2195.
