"The world of technology has greatly changed the face of police communication centers. The only thing that hasn't changed is the fact that it takes more than a warm body to be a good dispatcher. The vitally important role a dispatcher plays in officer survival must not be ignored or forgotten. Any professional dispatcher may be the difference between life and death in emergency situations, including life or death for responding officers."

Out of the countless daily tasks a dispatcher must perform, the most important is to make sure your officers go home safely each and every day.
Welcome to our Communications Center, the heart and soul of the Washington County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. It is here where citizens call for help with emergency situations, traffic accidents, information and assistance. In most cases, our dispatchers are the first point of contact with the citizens of Washington County. The patrol deputies also use dispatch to obtain information on driver's licenses, vehicle registration, warrant checks, criminal histories, and other various requests. This isn't all, though...
