Patrol Mission Statement To uphold and enforce the laws of the State of Maryland in an impartial manner without favoritism or bias. To support the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Maryland. To act as guardian of lives and property, to the best of the Sheriff's Office abilities and capabilities, protecting citizens from harm, deception, intimidation, violence and disorder. To live an untainted life which, in all aspects, will reflect honor upon the Sheriff's Office and the profession of law enforcement.

The Patrol Division is the enforcement branch of the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The responsibilities of the Patrol Division include enforcement of traffic and criminal laws, conducting investigations, responding to complaints, providing crime prevention and community oriented programs, and any other service for the safety and welfare of the citizens of Washington County, Maryland.
