The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance has announced that it is seeking applications for funding under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, FY 2011 Local Solicitation. The BJA will be making awards to assist local and tribal efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence. See www.ojp.usdoj.gov/BJA/grant/11jagallocations.html for details.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has applied for funding in the amount of $16,314.00. This funding is being sought to purchase law enforcement equipment including, but not limited to: Radar enforcement tools, tire deflation devices, handheld alcohol detection units, personnel overtime and other equipment as necessary.
