The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has announced that is seeking applications for funding under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, FY 2010 Local Solicitation The BJA will be making awards to assist local and tribal efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence. The Washington County Sheriff's Office has applied for funding in the amount of $21,895.00. This funding is being sought to purchase law enforcement equipment including, but not limited to: Radar enforcement tools, personnel overtime and other equipment.
